Travel Pictures
Welcome to Mike Farley's Worldwide Picture Pages (photos from eleven countries so far and still growing). If you have questions or recommendations, or would like me to add some of your better pictures after scanning them in, email me at mfarley@nova.org.
All pictures were taken with a Canon Power Shot S100 Digital Elph. Photos were edited (some were brightened up a touch) using ZoomBrowser EX. The panoramic shots were done using the feature on the camera which allows the shooter to take multiple panning shots and combine them using PhotoStitch 3.1. The photos in the table are hosted on Ofoto's servers (a Kodak company, www.ofoto.com). Their win-win arrangement beats the heck out of taking up valuable server space from my hosting provider. Photos were resized using Macromedia's Fireworks 3 and the website was authored using Macromedia's Dreamweaver 3. Special thanks to Linda Worthington for improving my technical skills with each of these programs and preventing me from crashing every server on the Net or throwing my computer out the window. (Rest assured, I would have taken a picture of it after doing so. ;0) )

The following pictures were taken on my trip to Europe with the George Mason University School of Management MBA 798 class (Global Business Perspectives--ECommerce & Internet Security) in partnership with the Cambridge International Land Institute, which posted additional photos from the trip. The trip ran from May 11-May 20, 2001. Photos of France, Italy and Monaco were taken the week after the GMU trip, during a one-week vacation (May 20-27) on the Côte d'Azur.
A
picture says a thousand words; the last shot left in the camera...I
missed the Porsches, Ferraris, Lambourghinis, and Spyders parked out
front because of the people gathering to have their pics taken with
the cars...Bond, James Bond

The following pictures were taken on my trip to Europe with the George Mason University School of Management MBA 798 class (Global Experience-Prospects for Business in 21st Century Europe) in partnership with the Cambridge International Land Institute, which posted additional photos from the trip. The trip ran from January 5-January 13, 2001. (Photos from Amsterdam were taken on January 14, in a separate day trip. Sorry, no pictures of the red light district.) To view an image, just click on the link. If you would like a larger soft copy of any of the photos, please specify the image by name. The images linked to this page are approximately 250x187 pixels. The originals (much larger photo and file size) are approximately 1600x1200 pixels, or roughly 12x as large as those linked here. I resized the originals in an effort to save server space and download times.
